The Worthington Data Solutions WDR Barcode Reader provides barcode reading capability to any device with an RS-232 serial port including PCs, terminals, laptops, cash registers. Up to 32 WDR Readers may be connected by RS-232 daisy-chaining or RS-422 multi-dropping.

The WDR Reader attaches between the host and the terminal, transmitting data as though it has been keyed. Simply unplug the serial cable from your multi-user terminal and plug it into the WDRs host port cable, then take the cable plugged into the WDRs terminal port and connect it to the main port of the terminal. When data is keyed or wanded, the data is transmitted to the host computer which echoes the data back through the WDR reader to the terminal’s screen; bar codes appear to have been keyed.
