The Intermec 9444's infrared beam is designed to read through laminated materials more easily than the typical laser. Wands, hand-held lasers and badge scanners can also be used with the 9444 through its input device port.

The 9444 is sturdy and fully sealed for use in harsh environments, yet lightweight and easily held in one hand.  It offers a 4-line by 20-character supertwist display with backlight, providing ample room for operator messages.  Alphanumeric data can be keyed in without shifting with the 9444's 48-key keypad.  Intermec's IRL™ software is included for programming all manor of barcode application programs.
